Oilmen’s Truck Tanks has designed and built a fleet refueling unit that includes a separate DEF storage and pumping system. It is one of the Nation’s first Weights & Measures certified units meeting ISO 22241 standards, designed specifically for this purpose. The goal was to create a practical, durable, DEF delivery package for fuel companies that need to add DEF to the products they offer their fleet customers. Fleet refuelers need to deliver as much fuel as possible on a single run to be efficient. Most SCR vehicles consume about 3 gallons of DEF for every 100 gallons of diesel fuel burned (3%). A truck tank that can haul 4400 gallons, a very popular size, would need to carry 133 gallons of DEF for “topping-off” purposes. Oilmen’s new design meets that requirement by including a stainless steel 150-gallon DEF tank, stainless steel meter, 1 micron stainless steel filter, LCRII register, ticket printer, 100’ x 1” hose and OPW DEF nozzle. By combining this system with the normal two pump/meter/reel fueling system, our customers can take care of all their fleet refueling accounts as SCR trucks are added to fleets. The advantage of this DEF system configuration is the truck tank operates as a full 4400 gallon capacity refueler whether the operator chooses to haul DEF or not. This unit offers all the advantages of DEF delivery without the heavy cost of sacrificed payload.
